What Does It Mean To Be Blessed And Highly Favored By God As A Believers In Today Christianity Defining blessed and highly favored
What do the terms “blessed” and “highly favored” mean in modern Christianity to both believers and nonbelievers
I am incredibly fortunate and favored. Are you well-favored and blessed? It’s a fascinating question, and many people find it challenging to respond. Please understand that I mean both believers and nonbelievers when I say “many people.” The idea that a believer would have trouble responding to this question would be laughed at by some.
I ran into a woman as I entered the church one Sunday morning. She went up to say hello when she saw one of her friends in the lobby by chance. This is how the discussion unfolded. One woman said, “Good morning, how are you?” The other lady answered, “I’m blessed and highly favored.”
Maybe in your church you’ve heard similar greetings. You might have even used them.
Is this really true? This needs to be clarified regardless of whether you’ve tried it or not. Have you received assurances that you will be favored and blessed? Most importantly, does God have anything to say about it?
So that we can get it right, let’s look at this more closely.
What does the phrase “blessed and highly favored” mean?
What does the Bible say about blessings and popularity? In the beatitudes, Jesus says, “Blessed are you,” and by “happy,” we should understand what he means. Saying you’re blessed means you’re content spiritually. The word “blessed” is frequently used to convey our happiness and gratitude to the Lord. How did we reach this conclution ?
12 For You, O Lord, will bless the just; You will envelop him in favor like a shield. N.K.J.V. PSALMS 5:12
Let’s examine the word “bless” in more detail. We must pay close attention to what David has to say as we study our key verse. He asserts that God will favor the righteous. He is describing a future event—or even something that is currently occurring—for the righteous in the present tense. It’s crucial to understand that blessing someone requires providing them with something (a gift). Were we not created to bless others? Isn’t it true that we ought to bless others as well? Of course yes
For a clearer understanding of this sentence and paragraph, keep reading. You should focus on Mary’s response to this greeting first.
She was concerned by what he said when she first saw him, though, and questioned what kind of greeting this was. – 1:29 (Luke) (NKJV)
Why exactly didn’t Mary scream? Why didn’t she exclaim as she ran through the streets of Nazareth, “I am blessed and highly favored”? She was much more circumspect and restrained in her response. In the New Living Translation, “confused” and “disturbed” are used. This alone shows that Mary was surprised by this meeting and that it was unexpected.

It still begs the question of why Mary was given such special treatment. The following verses provide the solution:
The angel assured Mary, “Don’t be afraid, for you have found favor with God! You will conceive a child, whom you will name Jesus, and give birth to him. He will be the Son of the Highest, and he will be extremely strong. He will be seated on King David’s throne by the Lord God. And he will continue to rule over Israel forever; his Kingdom will never end! Luke 1:29-33 (NKJV) (NKJV)
I think the lesson we can learn from this is pretty simple. Mary received a lot of favor from God because He was the one He chose to carry Jesus. This was the favor that she had received. It doesn’t imply that Mary was unique or better than other people. To be saved, she would also need to place her faith in Christ. It implies that she had extra grace or favor from God to complete this task.
Everybody is eligible to receive God’s favor, and many people do. The only person who can lay claim to being “very favored” is Mary. This phrase was only ever used once, and it was justified by the fact that no other person on earth could ever have given birth to Jesus.
What View of Blessing Does the Bible Take?
To be clear, if you are in Christ, you are blessed. In Ephesians 1:3, it is emphasized: God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ deserve praise for giving us every spiritual blessing found in Christ in the heavenly places.
When we associate God’s blessing with only material things, that’s when we sometimes err. The most significant gifts from God are not things like food, clothing, or money. Don’t misunderstand me; these are important issues.
The most important blessings are those that aren’t always obvious because they matter the most. How important is it to have calmness, happiness, hope, and faith that a loving God will never leave you?
When you receive these spiritual advantages, you will start to experience God’s favor flowing through you no matter what the situation.
Being fortunate and highly favored may not mean what you think it does, but that does not change the fact that if you are in Christ, you are blessed. I implore you to seize every blessing and promise that God has for you through Christ. God desires to show you great mercy and grace. You must follow the terms of his promises, but once you do, be amazed at what God will do in your life.
How Do We Receive the Promises and Blessings of God?
There is a straightforward answer to this question. The prerequisites must be met. Most of God’s promises are not absolute. In exchange for receiving God’s blessings, they demand something from you. There are many examples of things offered in exchange, including faith, obedience, sacrifice, giving, seeking, and knocking.
Let me provide you with an example. The greatest promises God has made to us are salvation and eternal life. However, in order to receive this gift or promise of salvation and eternal life, you must acknowledge your sins, firmly believe, and turn to God in repentance.
We must be willing to ask for it in order for God to freely give it to us.
Therefore, if you don’t fit the bill, the promise won’t be given to you.
Unfortunately, a lot of people want God’s blessings but have no interest in obeying his commands. If you want to experience everything God has for you in this life, you must be willing to do things God’s way. Remember Joshua 1:8:
Keep this Book of the Law always in your mouth; meditate on it day and night so that you may do all that it commands. As a result, you’ll be prosperous and successful.
How to enjoy great blessings and favor

God is merciful to those who choose to show Him kindness. This implies that the decision to prefer the Lord is accompanied by a decision to seek the Lord. In addition to seeking the Lord, this person enjoys being in the presence of the Lord. Isn’t it accurate to say that we share a unique bond with those we esteem? When someone favors the Lord, there is a special connection (relationship) between them.
In fact, this person satisfies the requirements listed in Isaiah. They most likely had humble hearts when they approached the Lord. I bring this up because boastful and arrogant people rarely truly turn to the Lord (sorry, they simply do not). This person has also complied with the Lord’s instructions.
God’s beloved
This person has offered the Lord their all! When Jesus commanded people to follow Him, they were being asked to let go and give of themselves. Genuine love for the Lord is shown in those who are able to give of themselves freely. To those who seek Him, God freely extends Himself.
The blessing of God implies that He loves you. This is a unique and special affection. Why? Because those who develop a close relationship with the Lord are blessed. Someone will say, “Preacher, you just said God loves everyone unconditionally.”
While we can love and be in relationships with everyone, we can also have a particular kind of love and friendship with those we value. When you declare that you are highly favored and blessed, you are aware of the unique relationship you have with the Lord. Not something to be hung over someone’s head, but rather a sign of respect, this pronouncement should be made.
We are blessed because of everything the Lord has done for us. We acknowledge and should testify to what the Lord has done for us. At the same time, we acknowledge the Lord’s love for us. In our key verse, David claims that God’s favor will envelop us like a shield. What matters to me is that I am truly blessed and highly favored in the eyes of the Lord!
The definition shouldn’t be under anyone’s authority.
The idea that I’m fortunate and favored would be laughed at by someone who would look at me, see what I’m going through, and consider where I am in life. Let me tell you something very important: don’t allow anyone to influence how you define favor and good fortune. Their interpretation of what that means in relation to God is unimportant.
They play a game of control down here, as you can see. Never be persuaded by anyone to act in a way that is contrary to sound doctrine in order to be blessed and highly favored. Don’t let anyone take advantage of you by playing the “I made it, therefore I’m blessed and highly favored” card. Making it can mean very different things to different people.
PLEASE NOTE
We are not seeking acceptance from others! (By man, I mean any person, whether he be a man, a woman, a boy, or a girl.) God’s favor is something we seek to acquire, not to earn! God is the only one who can give me praise.
