I wish I didn’t have the words anxiety or depression in my vocabulary or experiences. They do, though. I spent several years in the valley of the shadow of death, and now that I’m out of it, I believe God had my best interests in mind.
If I had been on the peak, I don’t think I would have learned the lessons He taught me in the valley. Even though I had experienced many times feeling alone, I think He wanted to demonstrate to me that I am never truly alone. I think He was trying to teach me that my feelings are not the same as reality. God wanted me to know things about Him that I wouldn’t have otherwise known.
Although my depression has temporarily subsided, anxiety can still surprise me and leave me reeling. On occasion, I feel as though my hands could reach out and touch the terror. Due to my fear and anxiety, I have trouble falling asleep at night.
I’m sure I’m not the only one who runs into problems. God has taught me a lot along the way, and I hope that these verses and words will serve as a reminder to you that the Creator of the universe does not reject or abandon you. Even when you are unable to understand what is happening to you on the inside or around you, He still longs for you to place your trust in Him.
Praying to God’s Word has been one thing that has greatly helped my heart. specially the book of Psalms. The Psalms are particularly helpful when we are at a loss for words or when our emotions are running high. In the midst of our suffering, we often lack the words to pray. God responds to our prayer requests by sending us His own word.
The Psalms can provide us with the words when we are at a loss for how to communicate with God. His Word offers access to His closeness and intimacy. He bestows Himself on us through the gift of His Word. Take His Word seriously because it might just save your life.
These are some of my favorite Psalms verses to pray when I’m experiencing anxiety, fear, or worry. If you get close to God, He’ll get close to you as well.
What Is Anxiety Or Worry?
Anxiety is a normal reaction to stress that, in some situations, can be helpful. It can alert us to threats that are about to materialize and help us plan and pay attention. In contrast to typical feelings of apprehension or anxiety, anxiety disorders are characterized by excessive fear or anxiety. The most prevalent mental illnesses are anxiety disorders, which affect one-third of all adults at some point in their lives. On the other hand, there are many efficient treatments for anxiety disorders, which are long-lasting. Most people who receive treatment are able to lead normal, fulfilling lives.

Psalm 27
One of my favorite Bible verses is from this psalm. I’ve struggled a lot with people-pleasing, which is a major factor in anxiety, in my opinion. speculating and worrying about what other people may be thinking or saying about us. We can’t possibly live there! We must constantly remind ourselves that only the LORD is our light and salvation and preach the gospel to ourselves.
“God, since You are my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear?” Whom am I to fear since you are the source of my life’s strength? They stumbled and fell when the evil, my adversaries and enemies, came to devour my flesh. An army camped out against me won’t strike fear into my heart. 1-3 Psalm 27
Psalm 34
The Psalm of the Brokenhearted and the Fearful is another name for this psalm. You should be aware that God has a special love for those who have lost someone. Also, we’re all damaged.
I’ll always give you a blessing, and I’ll always sing Your praise. I cried out to You, Lord, and You heard me and delivered me from all of my worries. When we look to You, we shine. Those who fear you are protected by your angels, and you also save us. Oh Lord, grant me the ability to taste and recognize Your goodness. You assure me of my blessing if I put my trust in You. “Those who seek You lack nothing good,” the Bible says. Psalm 34 verses 1–10
Psalm 61
Isn’t it encouraging to read the words of David, a biblical figure who experienced struggles similar to our own? That might be one of the causes for why I frequently turn to the Psalms in God’s Word when I’m struggling. One of my favorite passages uses the word “overwhelmed” in Psalm 61 of the New King James Version. I’ve felt overburdened for a long time. I tell myself these things when I’m there:
When my heart is overwhelmed, I cry out to God, “Hear my plea; I cry to you from the ends of the earth; lead me to the rock that is You are the reason I have a place to hide and a stronghold against my enemy. higher than I. 61:1-3 (Psalm) (Psalm)
Psalm 91
Another reassuring Psalm that shows us the true impact of remaining in Christ is Psalm 91. Psalm 91 states that when we abide or dwell in the shelter of the Highest, we can REST in the shadow of the Highest. He offers us relief from our concerns, phobias, and anxiety.
I will put my trust in you because you are my God and my rock. (Psalm 91:2)
Speak some of these verses out loud when you’re feeling anxious. Speak your thoughts to God. Take note of His words in your mind. Remember these truths. As we keep saying, “I trust You, I trust you,” to the Lord, the peace that surpasses all understanding starts to keep our hearts and minds safe.
Do not worry about anything; instead, bring your requests to God in everything through prayer and supplication along with thanksgiving. We will guard your hearts and minds in accordance with the peace of God, which passes all comprehension, in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4-6
Have you considered the beautiful truth that passage embodies? Prayer brings about peace. We are instructed to bring our worries to God, even when we are grateful. Next, what? Then the peace of God, which we may never fully understand, will GUARD our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Prayer brings about peace. Through prayer, we can better understand Jesus. And more of Jesus is just what we need during these times of worry.

Psalm 51
When we are in desperate need of the Lord’s love and mercy, we can have faith that He is listening to our cries for help. He draws us to Himself because He wants our hearts to be right with Him. This fervent Psalm gives us great encouragement and hope that God truly does reach out to those who turn to Him in repentance and sincerity.
“Have mercy on me, O God, and pardon my transgressions in accordance with Your unfailing love and deep compassion… God, cultivate in me a pure heart and renew a steadfast soul. Please don’t drive me out of your presence or take away your Holy Spirit. Give me a willing heart to continue, and restore to me the joy of your redemption. God’s sacrifices consist of a broken and contrite heart as well as a shattered spirit, which you will not scorn, O God. (1, 10, 12, 17, and 18) Psalm 51

This Psalm serves as a reassuring reminder that God is always watching over us and guarding our movements, and that we can completely depend on Him for support.
I ask for help in the mountains—where does it come from? My help comes from the LORD, who made the earth and the heavens. He will make sure that you don’t let your foot down, and he won’t go to sleep while watching over you and Israel. The sun and moon won’t hurt you during the day or at night because the LORD is your shade at your right hand. The LORD will keep an eye on your life and protect you from harm while also monitoring your movements now and forever. Psalm 121:1–8
Psalm 46
Whatever we face, God is ultimately victorious, and we can put our trust in Him regardless of the circumstances. This psalm exhorts us to pursue peace and security in our God, who is the only one capable of saving us, and to live without fear:

Whom should I fear if the Lord is my light and my salvation? If not the Lord, who is the fortress of my life, then whom shall I fear? In the land of the living, I still have no doubt that I’ll experience the goodness of the Lord. Be strong and courageous as you wait on the Lord. Psalm 27:1
Psalm 103
Giving Christ praise for who He is and the work He is doing in our lives by focusing our hearts and minds on Him has tremendous power. He forgives us of our sins. He is the one who heals us of our ailments. He saves us from the bottomless pit. He showers us with compassion and love. He replenishes and renews us with good things. He is kind, patient, and full of love. Remembering God’s promises and making the decision to praise and have faith in His sovereignty are the first steps to finding hope in your day.
My soul, exult in the Lord. who cleanses you from all your sins and heals all your illnesses; who delivers you from death and crowns you with love and compassion; who abounds in beauty so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s… The Lord is gracious and kind, slow to get angry, and full of love. For as far as the east is from the west, so far has he exiled our sin, and as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him. Psalm 103:1-22

Here are ten suggestions to help you cope with your daily fears and anxieties, whatever it is that makes you uneasy.

1. Stop and rest Don’t consider it.
Being anxious or worried makes it difficult to think clearly. Take a break so that you can physically unwind as the first step.
To get your mind off your problems for 15 minutes, take a 15-minute walk around the block, make some tea, or take a bath.
2. To reduce your anxiety, take a deep breath.
Avoiding resistance is the best course of action if you experience a faster heartbeat or sweaty palms.
Stay put and don’t try to distract yourself; just let the panic wash over you. Put your palm on your stomach and inhale slowly and deeply a few times.

5. Review the proof.
Combating fearful thoughts can be helpful. Ask yourself if you’ve ever heard of someone else experiencing a similar fear, such as the fear of suffocating in a lift. Think about what you would say to a friend going through a similar concern.
6. Don’t try to be perfect.
Despite the fact that life is stressful, a lot of us think that our lives should be perfect. It’s important to understand that life is messy and that there will always be bad days and disappointments.
